Open Position – Construction Carpenter
Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced carpenter to work on small to medium-sized residential projects, as well as any other tasks that may be require during the regular course of work. This position will involve:
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
- Supervising other trades and labourers
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3 – 5 years relevant work experience
- Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
- Carpenter Trade Certification is an asset
- Carpenter Red Seal Certificate is an asset
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course is an asset
- Good interpersonal skills required to communicate with trades and clients

We are currently seeking an experienced supervisor to work on small to medium-sized residential projects, as well as any other tasks that may be require during the regular course of work. This position will involve:
- Train or arrange for training
- Supervise workers and projects, and co-ordinate and schedule activities
- Set up equipment
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
- Establish methods to meet work schedules
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions
- Prepare production and other reports is an asset
- Estimate costs and materials is an asset
The ideal candidate will have:
- Over 5 years relevant work experience
- Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
- Carpenter Trade Certification is an asset
- Carpenter Red Seal Certificate is an asset
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course is an asset
- Good interpersonal skills required to communicate with trades and clients
- Own vehicle with valid driver’s licence
